…LFG – Landfill Gas – the gas that forms in a Landfill is made up of the same gases as natural gas (NG) a fossil fuel. In a Landfill LFG can be captured and used in the same way as natural gas.
*What is MSW ?
…MSW is Municipal Solid Waste – The garbage that every home throws away. It is used as a feedstock to a MRF to be sorted or sent to a Landfill.

…Incentivize – a new way to say: encourage, inspire, arouse, motivate, spur on, stir to action
*What is EPR?
…EPR – Extended Producer Responsibility – Especially in the age of Waste Plastic, EPR is a new environmental policy that is applied to producers to extend their responsibility to include the end of their product’s useful life. In other words – “we consumers are not the only ones responsible for dealing with the product you made. You have to help us move it to it’s next use, after we use it.” Today, this applies mostly to plastic, e-waste and glass packaging, but more types of products are being added as the EPR policy takes hold.

SMALL Landfills – Capture the Methane And Make Energy, too.

How much Municipal Solid Waste is considered the size of
SMALL Landfills / Garbage Dumps?

It used to be I million – 3 million tons of Municipal Solid Waste-in-place.

Now-a-days there appears to be no limit to the size of a “Landfill project to produce energy” as long as the people who own it can find
1. an end user for the gas or electricity
2. Funding for the project.

at the heart and soul of industrial processes worldwide.

ISO knows the Value of WASTE and Closing-the-Loop

The idea for the ISO Circular Economy committee began with a seminar held by AFNOR, ISO’s member for France. What followed was a French standard, XP X30-901, Circular economy, published in 2018. The response was so positive that an international committee was proposed and ISO/TC 323 began to get to work.
The standards for ISO/TC 323 are to be published in 2024.
