What is a Green Job?
No matter what your profession, are you working for a sustainability committed company?
Just as it is a vote for Green if you buy sustainable products. It is a vote for Green if you work for a company that deals with the environmental consequenses of their products – Environmental consciousness.
The business itself, may not be in a totally Green industry, but they have begun to deal with the environmental consequences of what they produce. Examples of this are:
* Machine builders that have remanufacturing programs.
* The printing and packaging companies that use compostable materials.
* Construction companies that find ways to use their waste.
* Clothing companies that only sell sustainable products.
* Farms that find buyers for their by-products.
This goes for big machine companies like Caterpillar.

10 global companies that are environmentally friendly
2016 – A few generations ago it seemed like the world’s resources were infinite, and people needed only to access them to create businesses and grow humanity.
Today, we know how false that is. We now know that rather than finding ways to exploit new resources, people and companies need to focus on finding sustainable ways to grow, while protecting the planet and the resources we have left.
For every company that spills millions of gallons of oil into the oceans, there are plenty more companies operating under this new belief:
IKEA has invested in sustainability throughout its entire business operations
Unilever has done more than make green investments, it’s made sustainability part of its corporate identity. The company’s Sustainable Living Plan sets targets for sourcing, supply chain and production on everything
Panasonic has ambitious energy goals, both in terms of efficiency and renewables, and it also focuses on making environmentally friendly products.
Allergan (Just acquired by AbbVie), the Botox producer that has been at or near the top of Newsweek’s green companies rankings for years – “We’re on track to meet our key 2020 Sustainability commitments, and are proud to be recognized for our efforts.”
Seventh Generation not only uses sustainable practices, it’s also created space for green products in a particularly environmentally destructive industry – household cleaners.
Patagonia’s corporate strategy ‘anti-growth’, a tongue-in-cheek nod to the retailer’s crusade against conspicuous and superfluous consumption.
IBM was another early adopter of sustainability and eco-friendly business. Corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship has been part of the company’s mission since the 1960s.
Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing is an industry leader when it comes to sustainability
Adobe systems was the greenest IT company in Newsweek’s 2014 rankings – and continues
Nike topped Morgan Stanley’s list in 2015 of most sustainable clothing and footwear brands. uses- post-consumer recycled materials
